Listen to Whitney Steele
With the support of some of music’s most respected artists, Whitney Steele has come into her own. Her fresh and feminine contemporary folk pop sound grabbed the attention of Gin Blossom’s lead singer Robin Wilson. Robin’s golden backup vocals and guitar are featured in Whitney’s original song “You Won’t See Me Crying.” Whitney was selected as 1 of 5 finalists from more than 300 Cingular Mobile artists nationwide to compete for a chance to perform “You Won’t See Me Crying” on an episode of the hit show One Tree Hill on the CW television network. Whitney battled against four other bands as the only female solo artist chosen by the judges.

Gretsch Guitars selected Whitney to debut one of the four guitars in the Gretsch Americana series in a music video, which can be seen on their website. Whitney has also just released her 1st music video ‘Storm Warning’ from the title track of her self titled EP. Adam Curry, one of MTV’s 1st DJ’s featured ‘Storm Warning’ on his popular Pod Show website. ‘Storm Warning’ was 1 of 10 most viewed videos for January 2008. ‘Storm Warning’ is also nominated for best video by The Los Angeles Music Awards and The Phoenix Music Awards, 2008.

Whitney has been chosen as the first artist to receive a nomination for singer/songwriter in the first annual Phoenix Music Awards (sister to The Los Angeles Music Awards) which will be held at the Skye Theater October 4, 2008. Whitney’s brand new single ‘Where Did You Go’ won best pop single in November, 2007 at The Hollywood Fame Awards. ‘Where Did You Go’ is also nominated for best pop single by The Phoenix Music Awards for 2008.

Whitney most recently opened for Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband at The Center for the Performing Arts in Safford, Arizona as well as Scotty Johnson (lead guitarist of the Gin Blossoms) joining Whitney and her band on stage to perform at The Arizona Broadway Theatre. She continues to perform live across the West Coast while building her national fan base. Within the first three months of her online public debut of her self titled EP recorded at Westlake Recording Studios where she is involved in the artist development program, her songs held steady at the number one, two, and three spots on the charts. Whitney is working on her 2nd CD due to be released in December, 2008. Armed with talent, passion, and an honest captivating sound, Whitney Steele well deserves her rising success.
